SPRINGFIELD: EVERY NOBLE PROFESSION HAS ITS UPS AND DOWNS

Today, in Springfield, fallen and heroic firefighters were honored. A moving and special thing.

Today, in Springfield, the State Fire Marshall, was arrested for DUI, apparently while driving his government vehicle.

Will these folk never learn to take a cab, or get a motel room?

The thing is, most people have done this...
You just hope that with age, comes a little more wisdom with people.

1805,

This man is a veteran of 30 years fire service and was chief of a major Illinois City F.D., plus about four as fire marshall. He's got to be closing in on 60 and has had more safety training in a year than civilians have in a life time. In the case of someone with this experience, I think it's reasonable to expect the maturity to kick in sometime before he qualifies for his second pension.

BTW, in a follow up, his employer has suspended his State Car usage.
