MCCAIN'S POLITICAL DIRECTOR PACKS IT IN: WORST COVER STORY SINCE CHENEY SHOT HARRY

http://hotlineblog.nationaljournal.com/archives/2007/05/mccains_politic.html

McCain's political director is going back to New Hampshire because the schools are better there for his son. So noble. So phony. When he came to work for McCain, he didn't know the schools were better in N.H. than they were in Washington D.C.? He says his family is his "number one" priority and he didn't check the schools out before he moved?

He didn't know how long his commitment to the campaign was? He couldn't look up when the General Election was scheduled?

I'm sure the Senator had a great, incisive mind like this working on really cutting edge stuff. Ever since Nixon, Repubs have to have a cover story when the truth would serve just as well.

N.H. just changed its motto "Live Free or Die Spinning."

My God, that's pitiful.

Bunch o' people have lied when they're in the crosshairs for something naughty, both parties.

I'm talking about concocting a scheme to explain something non-criminal and innocent, even noble. Pat Tillman is a good example (Rummy-gram).

Here, McCain needed somebody to walk the plank so he could say he was no longer gonna be tone deaf. This guy couldn't admit to being the sacrificial goat, so he cooked a story that was cheesecloth. Gratuitous but untrue stories.

The Repubs are king of that genre.

Hell, even Iran-contra was probably defensible with the truth but that would have required an admission that the Gipper was not actually comatose and did, in fact, negotiate with hostage takers/terrorists.

Now go ahead and talk about the stain on the dress and shout "checkmate".

TYFCB,even if you are the intellectual equivalent of blunt force trauma.

Tony: you're reading Inside Dope too much. Whenever a Republican knows he is wrong he brings up the blue dress. They somehow think that makes all their transgressions acceptable. Now if President Clinton would have stained the dress and then gave a company, perhaps Halliburton, billions of dollars in no bid government contracts to clean it, the Republicans would have a point.

Hmmmm... This post would have made a real good "Speak."

Being well read and extremely judgmental, I'm sure you're ready to cite me to historical and conclusive evidence that the Administration knowing misrepresented something, as opposed to commanders in the field.

Hell, even Fulbright never believed that Johnson lied. More better, McNamara still says he believed at the time there was an act of aggression there.

Besides, I didn't suggest that democrats were 100% virtuous. I said Repubs have a conditioned response to always cook a cover story, even when they don't need it.

Sorry if you think I was nasty but it wasn't me who brought up coarse human behaviors and weaknesses. I was just trying to bring you back to the topic. Don't mind if you keep trying.

BTW, if you have read me at all, you know I'm vehemently opposed to the GRT.
