COOL, MIXED LATINO NAMES DERBY

Ever since I was a little kid, I have found the combination of a euro or anglo name and a latin name cool.

Best current example is "Hanley Ramirez". Very Cool Name.

Reverse mixed name, also very cool, is "Alfredo Griffin" Another good reverse is "Jose Offerman"

"Edgar Renteria" is a contender.

"Robinson Cano" is good but almost cheating, since he is named after Jackie Robinson.

More Syllables is usually cooler, as in "Wilton Guerrero" is cooler than "Juan Bell". "Wilson DelGado" is cooler than "Nelson Cruz".

As in all coolness contests, there must be rules. "Manny" "Alex" "Jay" "Louis/Looey/Luis" "Chris" and any derivative of "Sandy" are uni-cultural. They don't count for name-mixing. "Sid" or "Sidney" is borderline and not acceptable unless accompanied by at least a four syllable latino last name. In other words Sidney Ponson need not apply.

Athletes and politicians are a good source for these cool names. Feel free to submit yours. "Bill Richardson" doesn't count. Fairly cool guy--not a cool mixed name. Sorry Bill, even if it started out "Guillermo," you don't qualify.
