DURHAM NIFONG LACROSSE RAPE MESS: SOMETHING GOOD WILL COME OF THIS

My modest prediction is that at least one of these young men becomes a lawyer, then becomes a highly placed prosecutor and does more for the cause of justice and good judgment in the decision to charge than would have otherwise occurred if this greasefire hadn't happened. I hope it's Seligman. What an impressive young man.

Prediction: Duke administrators, campus protestors, "black leaders," the exotic dancer making the charges and the prosecutor campaigning for reelection will get off scotfree.

1017,

Duke Administrators, Campus Protestors, maybe. The complainant, never. She's gonna wear on her forehead the tag of the woman who set the sex crimes victims' movement back at least 20 years. No free lunch there.

Nifong will not dance away. Read the pleadings. First charge is a mortal lock and the fourth charge is the potential death penalty. The coverup is always worse than the crime. A deal will be made and it will include time where he can practice "Do you want fries with that?"

0730,

Well, yes and no. In Civil Rights actions, prosecutors only enjoy what is called a Qualified Immunity, not an absolute judicial immunity. If it can be shown he willfully and wantonly interfered with a constitutional right of the Def's, a claim can be stated.

OTOH, in the words of Ray Donovan "Where do (they) go to get (their) good name back?"

Just a thought as Rev Al and Jesse are lynching Imus , but weren't those two the first "leaders" to call for these same Duke players heads ?

I will google later but I do recall them doing their song and dance.

I think 3 kids need an "I'm Sorry" from Al and Jesse , when they are done ruining Imus's career .

Many black writers, ministers, etc are questioning Al and Jesse's own moral compass. Also questioning the rap artists using insults to woman - this can only be good. I ahve never heard Imus becaus this stuff is not my gig - really inappropriate. Hopefully, it is the market place that has spoken,
