Other than to disagree with you over a primary election, please show me where I have "slapped" any "mouths". The only entry or response in here that is even borderline rude is to some moron who couldn't read.
Primaries necessarily divide people who are usually allies. That is regrettable in some ways .
I disagree with some party insiders abandoning a performing incumbent. That's a fact. Is my sin that I do it openly? Would it be OK if I just kept it private? Or is it that the incumbent is supported by people you're not allowed to like? Rest assured, I damn sure didn't make my decision whom to support based upon who agreed or disagreed with me. I don't agree with anybody all the time.
I started this thing out begging everyone involved to disagree without being disagreeable. The only calls for civility at the beginning were coming from me.
You complained about something. Back it up. Show me the metaphoric "slap in the mouth." Unless you're the moron who can't read, it's not there. If you were the moron who couldn't read, you deserved it.

The insiders you mentioned need to see that when they elected Volm four years ago, they elected her to do a job. I think their main gripe is that she did her job (very well) but chose not to be influenced by certain people who had agendas and wanted things done "their way". A great many believe that partisan governing is inherently evil, self-serving. In that respect, Volm, to those folks, has emerged as a kind hero, in a way. A character that doesn't come around too often! Seemed like she had the voters and taxpayers interests in mind more than any other group. A lot of people I've talked to liked the idea that she did her job as she saw fit to do it, and did not feel the need to maintain the policies of the old system. She took and is taking her blows for that, obviously. Just hate to see someone who dealt with numerous changes, worked against the grain, and ultimately facilitated improvement in the office (went down there & saw for myself) take so much flack.
What the insiders have to loose her is exactly what irks a lot of the public. Like to see ideas, pro or con!
Anon 407,
Well, I balk at partisanship being inherently evil. It took a political party to give us Abraham Lincoln.
I agree generally with your theme but I think there's another layer to it. As much as I admire Georgia's skills and energy, I acknowledge that she can be somewhat inflexible and overly intense. Some of the stuff that has infuriated insiders has just been style. Still, in my opinion, your overall take is right.
Also, there was just an unfortunate mix of personalities when she first came to office. Good people can sometimes not like other good peopleand there's no fix for it. Some of GV's detractors are highly valued friends of mine. I have no quarrel with their being terminally disgusted with her. Their life planes intersected at an impossible time. Nobody's fault. Just happens.
Others, for whatever reason, have turned it into a "good versus evil" thing. That's narrow and unfortunate.
Big picture: If you recruit a candidate and that candidate wins and does a good job, then you oppose that candidate in the next primary, How do you ever recruit non-insider candidates again? This primary is guaranteed to reduce the influx of talented people into partisan politics. That may be even more unfortunate than all the bogus charges.
There is another lesson in here but I'll save it for after the primary. I have to round up some SWAP prisoners for a literature drop and (unlocked) door-to-door canvass.
Thanks for stopping by.
I find it odd that they are acusing Volm of not being democrat enough because she never voted in a D primary before she was elected, yet those same people are supporting Gasko, who has never voted in a D primary in her life. (OR at least none on record)

Let's look at it statistically. There are about 69,000 people in Adams County. There are just under 40,000 registered voters. There are about 3,000 repititave primary voters. When recruiting a candidate, would you like to draw from the largest talent pool or the smallest?
It happens I was present when GV was interviewed by a cross section of the party. She never told any different story than she was not a dem primary voter. She was completely upfront about it.
Contrast this with her opponent who claims to be a grassroots worker. When Sheriff Fischer had a nasty primary, Mr. Grassroots neglected to go to the polls and give him a needed vote.
I hope you saw my earlier piece on Gasko. I think she's a really neat person who could have Charlie Williams' type electricity. I think it was right to encourage Gasko and it was right to encourage Volm.
Thank you for stopping by.
Golly,
That's not even close! I think it's "repetitive". Sorry.
Tony, I completely agree with you here. (I am the previous anon 11:12) But I just think these people don't realize what it takes to get a good candidate, and they also are looking for any reason to hate GV.
If the insiders are worried about security and criminals/prisoners/convicts/
probationers (don't know how they being designated at the moment, what time is it, sure it will change soon!), why don't they stop acting like criminals by stealing Volm signs out of yards (mine). See police report from last evening.

I fretted over whether to reject your post. Because you didn't name any particular suspect, I let it go but I would challenge how you know it's a Carper supporter who stole your sign. With respect, aren't you doing just what the challenger's folks are doing, taking a little bit of info and turning it into am immutable truth?
Don't mind this blog being critical, even very critical, but let's be fair. This is not a GOP blog.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a replacement sign by now.
