LIKE THE CAVALRY, U/G RIDES IN, JUST IN TIME

U/G's been on a very understandable hiatus.

Today I've been wrestling with whether to write about some of the developments of last night. Having concluded that I can't ethically do that, I noted that U/G has opened the same general topic today so I would invite my readers there. Try going through the individual presentations last night and asking yourself if anything trips your hyprocrisy meter. If you only identify the obvious one, you're not trying hard enough. There's more. Have fun.

See ya tomorrow.

Thank you for concluding you have ethics.

I think everyone involved in the matter tripped someone's "hyprocrisy meter".

Whose meter simply depends upon ones point of view.

Unfortunately, because of where some of the players had their heads, they needed a glass stomach to see where they were going.

But, you must remember, this had something to do with government and politics. So what else is new?

lootie-wheeler-dealer,

Just so I'm not the dreaded "Player To Be Named Later".

BTW, you were working on your best glower last night--If one didn't know better, one would have thought you had a pain in the ass.

U/G,

Thank you for reminding us of your vast staff and journalistic resources. I'm sure Rupert Murdoch will be around for a Leveraged Buyout soon. We also know who actually writes in complete sentences around there.

You did a public service today. Return to your sabbatical knowing you did well. If you have a minute, you could reconnect my link. The one on my blog to yours still works fine, almost seven months uninterrupted.

Good job. Get some sleep and quit torturing Lootie.

I didn't blame Mike for anything. But, now that you bring it up, The Chair of the County Board lecturing the Quincy City Council on the importance of a comprehensive, far-reaching, land use plan is a little bit like Dusty Baker lecturing Tony LaRussa on the importance of On Base Percentage.

Nice Duds, though.

Lootie,

I get these terrible headaches. You praise the dem city council for doing the right thing and bitch because the members and office holders don't blast each other? What's that about? Were they supposed to throw spitballs at Hubert? What the heck do you want to have happen?

"Blaming Mike and the county Board is a SEMI "find a scape goat" easy out. "

Why do you think we are scapegoating the county board? They are being blamed rightfully so due to previous inaction. The entire set of events that you speak of are based on actions that took place after McLaugghlin and the County Boards inaction. They set this chain and any past or future events in motion.

We are talking about the AMERICAN WAY! (you knew this term was coming, I warned you) If I were in the same situation as these residents I would use every means possible to protect my home investment, my quality of life etc. . . . You can not fault these people or Hubert one bit. This is just as American as when you and I state that our home is protected by the 2nd Amendment. We feel we are preserving our rights and property. What could be more AMERICAN!

;)

"Chalk it up to another example of why you guys get the rap you have."

And how do you percieve Ehmens statements on Simmons Cooper while we are talking about raps.

YeahbutLootie,

Look, you concede the folks from Ewbanks had a right to try what they tried and you wanted the City Council to do what you thought was the right thing. It was debated and voted upon. That's America. What's the problem? You either believe in the process or you don't.

Take your butt pillow tonight.

The Lootie broken tailbone mystery was solved lastnight by a group of Dems.

The conclusion was that Larry Ehmen kicked Lootie in the rear for supporting Scholz.

I have read the comments and I believe your site may listen to the facts on the issue of "zoning."

I am surprised at the comments. Many seem to be unaware of the issues, and, again, seek personal attacks. Perhaps just another example of republican attack dog politics.

Go ahead, be mean, attack all without even knowing that most do not care. Of course, I am not referencing this site, just other very apparent stupid comments.

I do love the "no zoning in the county" that some republican attack dogs claim exists. Go hire a lawyer as many do and learn that there are federal and state laws and regulations that impact property in "the county." So, "the county" is not free to do as it pleases, just check with the EPA, state law regulating septic tanks and my attorney could go on and on.

So, for the attack dogs, just remember, you can't dump oil, you can cause pollution in our creeks and rivers and otherwise be in violation of many laws and regulations.

Thus, there is zoning in a general sense and I am proud that the issue was discussed and that the various sides were given an opportunity to voice their positions.

Thanks for hard work on this blog. With all the pea brains out there, it is refreshing to realize that one site has my respect.

Thank you.

Must admit, though, a simple land use plan by the county wouldn't hurt.

Limited use argument is on target. No one is safe while the legislature is in session.

It's unfortunate folks confuse health, safety and environmental regulations with land use regulations. There is a difference. You may not be able to dump your used oil into the nearby stream but you can build your service station next to it if there is no zoning. Remind your lawyer of that.
