I would be willing to bet that you could find the same poor grammar and poor spelling in most of the stuff the teachers are sending home with the students. Every school newsletter/handout my son has brought home in the past school year has contained at least one mistake. These were mostly written by the teacher but sometimes the principal.
Depressing though it is, I'll bet you're right.
Maybe that's why Korea is kicking our educational butt working in mud huts.
