Spring should go blank more instead of spewing this kind of nonsense re his IT Director:

"I looked back through this to see if there was anything that would have prevented him, if he were looked at today and, you know, lots of times people do have things that happen to them and have misdemeanors or things reduced to a lesser charge...I never associated...unless it's a felony. You know I think people can obviously continue with their lives," Spring said. "I don't know the particulars."

Sometimes it might be better to go blank. Exhibit A from the Denier in Chief:

"I'm not sure he had criminal background, Mary. That might be a little bit of an allegation here that I don't think you
can necessarily back it up."

Having a clue about something as essential as industrial development. It's not like it was a trick question.

The question wasn't on industrial development. Here was the question:

"What can you do to prevent an economic downturn?"

Now read Spring's answer:

"Collaboration with GREDF, Chamber, YP, HQBD. Those are groups who can help move a community forward even in troubled times. We're blessed we don't have all of our eggs in a basket. I remember 1975 when Motorola closed and we lost 4,500 jobs. I can't create jobs, you create jobs. Hiring one or two people makes all of the difference. Getting 15 to 20 jobs is huge. We've looked at a company to build the turbines with hydro. That could be done here and add more jobs. You want to keep your community sound during tough times. You are only as effective as your leadership."

Maybe Umr could show us the great wisdom and understanding his boss has re industrial development. Lots of words, no substance.

Speaking of screw drivers , WTF is up with Chuck and Springer in hard hats ?

What about the flat out lie of 4th lowest unemployment ?

What about who hired the I.T. Director and WHY ?

It wasn't because Sparky thought he was a nice guy or the fact that CWS does not use a computer .

So let the guy draw a blank ..........

It is far better than speaking .

If that was a balk, what was Spring's offer to pick up drunk people from the bars at night?

Think Spring would pick up Bob Gough at a bar ?

The son of a beach won't even answer a simple question .

I'll take Dave's honesty, his awkwardness when speaking and his inability at slight of hand any day over the slickness of a polished politician. We have had too damn much of that for years. The city will be much better off with a carpenter that a BSer.

As I read the qualifications for running for office I see nothing about being a polished speaker. Look what it got the country.

I'm a lot more at ease with a person that is truthful and says they "don't know", or "I've drawn a blank", than a person who is a bloviater and talks so much and long, that he ends up hiding lies in his discourse. Spring thinks we'll be dazzled by his oratorical skills and doesn't think we'll actually check his facts.
He has so many lies in his campaign rhetoric that he turns me off.

Anon 1922,

Well, it is definitely Not for Profit!

But it is my gear, my internet connection and my time.

Maybe I'll apply to INET for local hosting, just to stir TOOKIE up!
