Let's skip for a minute the concept of whether anything criminal happened.
The guy said he's "Stuck" as Governor. He didn't get drafted. He ran for the job, twice (three times if you count a hot primary in 02).
I put it up to that Pepperdine education. Whatever a Pepperdine Law grad gets, he considers himself entitled to more. I used to think democrats were immune from the Pepperdine virus. Of course, I used to think Blago was a democrat. I was younger then.

UMR I'm getting confused but that happens often at my age. What do you mean you thought Blago was a democrat????? He is a Chicago Democrat, the worst kind. A totally corrupt city, has been forever and always will be until the dead quit voting. There is not enough rat poison in the country to clean it up.
I think it’s time for a very severe sentence for those who cheat the taxpayer. Maybe it time to bring back the guillotine. What do you think??

Being a Democrat, or a socialist, or a Republican, or a Libertarian, involves some level of belief system, a "worldview". It is not the same for everybody in any one party but it involves some level of core belief in some basic principles. I have come to believe the Governor has none (I blame Pepperdine but it could be you can take the Boy out of Pepperdine and Pepperdine would already be in the Boy). He has only greed and a sense of entitlement to personal gain. That makes him an opportunist. If you will give me two words instead of one, I'll go for "Narcisist Opportunist".
Oh, for what it's worth, I don't completely agree with T-101. Ryan was a weak man who caved into what he thought was custom and practice. He was still criminally liable but I never got that he had the self-worship of Elvis Nixon and really don't believe the began his service with that same abiding greed.
