NOTE TO ZINGA

Grandstanding right off the GOP talking points, Andrea Zinga continues to make it hard for me not to use my pet nickname for her. But I promised, so I won't.

But a couple of points for her to consider. First, All Muslims are not fascists. Second, all fascists are not Muslims. Maybe Andrea herself needs a Foxworthy "You might be a fascist if......"

Further, if she truly thinks it is poor policy to understand our enemies, she is doomed to perpetual ignorance. Perhaps she wants to lead a resurgence of the "Know Nothing" Party.

Finally, Was this really the week to grandstand and politicize the war on terrorism?

I hadn't seen yours but my take is a little different.

Interesting how all the GOP ops have broken out "Islamofascists" at once. Somehow, I doubt Andrea is a scholar in the Great Religions of the World.

I do know she was raised better than this. Fomenting religious bias is understandable for the ignorant. When you've been taught better by good Macomb parents and still do it, it's evil.

Only one's talking about all the veterans who are being ignored.

LootMeister,

Not sure you wanna have this discussion. Last good Chair of Vets' Affairs (Per VVA rating) was taken off the committee with one year to go in his term as Chair, by the Hammer, no less. That's how the GOP cares for vets.

I think I'll take my chances with the guy who helped Lane Evans fight for Vets for a quarter century, rather than somebody who makes reckless terrorism speeches, implicictly suggesting more adventures for american fighting folks to die in.

Evil's when you know better and do it anyway.

The Pope seems to agree with Zinga. I wouldn't call him evil nor Elvis.

The comments made by Zinga are not surprising to me, but I would not leave the media free of criticism. Local media throughout the district have done the voters a tremendous disservice. Where are the tough questions? Like I have said before - I would like to read a headline like "Candidate A's comments on the war short on detail. I offered multiple point plans on Iraq, terrorism and energy – why can’t the current candidates do the same. The system right now does not reward political courage. That lack of courage carries over to the candidate’s service – fear of losing the next election. I have complete confidence in the United States. With the proper vision and appropriate resources we can collectively meet and overcome even our most pressing problems. Zinga’s comments say more about the system than her positions on Iraq and terrorism..
