BUSH ON ZARQAWI: WHERE IS THE BALANCE COMING FROM?

President Bush's remarks concerning the death of Zarqawi were very balanced and cautious. No Macho Talk and no End Zone Dances. This is very non-Rove behavior. Are we seeing the leavening hand of Karen Hughes back on the tiller of this usually misbegotten administration? Someone has injected a grownup into the cowboy administration. There could be a bounce in it for the pachyderms. Very astute geopolitics.

The Cowboy has been wrong on many things, but I still want him as the sheriff against the bad boys in the world.

Everyone needs someone to kick around, the world has done that with Bush. His legacy may not evolve for a many years. Way too early to tell. Look at Reagan, then and now.

Well, we're gonna have to disagree on that part but on his handling of this particular development, I'm giving him very high marks. I'm also trying to figure out where such good advice comes from. It ain't from King Karl.

Thank you for coming by.

Death is nature's way of telling you to slow down.

It's rare for a political commentator from the left to even notice when this administration does something right, much less comment on it. There seems to be a an unwritten code enforced on both sides of the political divide that says anything short of total bashing is treason. That you are above such nonsense is one of the reasons I like this blog.

Dan,

Guess I didn't get the "Talking Points" memo that day. I'll try not to make a habit of it!

Continued success with BlogfreeSpringfield, which I look in on often and recommend.

Thanks for coming by.
