DE' PLAN, BOSS, DE' PLAN
Is there a loan or grant committee anywhere that doesn't require a business plan before advancing money to an applicant?
Congress has just dramatically suggested that the Big Three file some kind of plan suggesting what they would do if they got the money they seek. Wow, what a concept!
Two questions: If you are a CEO of one of B-3, why wouldn't you have raced to have a rock-solid plan in front of Congress before you ever asked for a dime? If you are Congress, why would you talk to these people until they had a recovery plan in front of you and your staff had had a chance to examine it?
Doesn't sound like there are too many grownups in this equation.
But I'm sure Congress gave them a big TYCB

I agree with your assessment about Congress and the auto companies. I have two questions of my own a little closer to the Gem City.
One) Does the City of Quincy have an ironclad policy requiring that all potential city employees in sensitive areas, including department heads, undergo a thorough background check? If not, why not?
Two) Is it appropriate to hire a person to head a department with access to sensitive financial information three years after that person pled guilty to criminal charges involving theft of funds from an employer?
TYFCB
Hey, at least it looks like they are doing something. Symbolism over substance.
Chapter 11 is made for them. I just love the excuse nobody will buy from a bankrupt auto mfgr....they aren't now either!
