BHO wants to make HRC, a very competent and well-trained Senator, Sec'y of State. Lou Piniella wants to make Kosuke Fukudome, a very competent and well-trained Right Fielder, a Center Fielder. All of this is happening in Chicago. The common principle is weakening one position to achieve baseline competence in another. In both cases, the cost/benefit ratio doesn't crack out.
