CHAMPAIGN COUNTY AND ST. LOUIS: ALCOHOL AND SPORTS

In St. Louis, a little friction in the Cardinal extended family. Josh Hancock's father has sued Mike Shannon's for serving Josh when he was already sloshed. This was predictable. A trial is doubtful.

In Champaign Jamar "I-figured-the-Dude-Was-Dead-So-I-Headed-for-My-Crib-and-Played-My-XBox" Smith will be doing a couple of weeks of Jail time. It seems they got this one about right, not punishing him for being a public figure but punishing him for being a knucklehaid.

Look, folks, almost everywhere has adopted .080 and implied consent. Get used to it. If you've had anything to drink--ANYTHING--make other arrangements. Don't drive. The risk/reward ratio is, as they say south of the border and in Beardstown "muy crappy".

Enjoy your holiday weekend.

this is a glaring example of not taking personal responsibility and it is always somebody elses fault. when did this begin? also, an example of ambulance chasing trial lawyers milking the system for their own riches, while the rest of us pay through higher insurance premiums and pay more for services and products.

If this goes to trial, There will be many, many stories of Josh Hancock and a glimpse into a single, wealthy baseball player and the life he led. It will not be Mayberry. Get ready for drinking, drugs, strippers and wild women-and then maybe some bad stuff.
