SUNDAY SEC SUPPLEMENT: IF NOT THE RAZORPIGGIES, WHO?

OK, College Football experts, assume the Piggies beat Miss. St. and LSU (big chore), then take anemic offense Florida in the SEC Championship game. Who is better positioned and more deserving to play the Winner of the Ohio State Game in the National Championship? SoCal will have two losses by then. ND will have run out of service academies to play. The Big 12 will be having seminars on recruiting offensive linemen and Rutgers will be, well, Rutgers.

Can the Champion of the SEC be denied (Well, yes, I remember about Auburn a few years ago, but that's different--It's easy to disrespect a guy named Toooooooooberville!)?

And we got a Heismann candidate and depth at QB--and only one cupcake on the sched (like all SEC teams, @ least one is required)

Whooo, Sooooooie, Pig!

Hey Tony,

If the Michigan-Ohio State game is a classic, there is some talk they could play again in the national championship game. Florida will be hard-pressed to win out and everybody else is way behind in the BCS standings. GO BLUE!

By the way, I was in rainy Mount Pleasant, Mich., last Friday night to see MY Central Michigan University Chippewas beat dreaded rival Western Michigan to win the MAC West title. Nobody wants to play a MAC team in a bowl game, not even your little piggies.

I don't think you can dismiss Southern Cal so easily. It looks to me as though they play just hard enough to beat whoever they are playing that day. ND always gives them a good game but I don't think it has the horses to do it on the west coast this year.

The Hogs are a good team and demonstrate it week after week and playing the Gators for the SEC championship should be a heck of a game. I still question, however, whether they are the same caliber as Michigan and Ohio State.

What a great year for college football. If you look at the top eight BCS teams, I think all play another top eight team.

Hoggs are getting alot better , the problem is they face LSU . Do not discount those Tigers . They proved against a fiesty BAMA D that they can score .

MUCK FICHIGAN ( Still have hard feeling from the 80's with Bo beating us all the time at Illini)

GAY-tors are decent , but out of the Swamp are very beatable. Tim Tee-blow is over rated and next year the kid will prove me right.

When the talking heads call for play offs -- I think the drama of Bowls is far better. Unlike the "Big Dance" NCAA football='s every game counts.

I like this aspect of NCAA football . I like it that no matter what the teams HAVE to come to play every game.

OSU is unreal but so was Fellon U when OSU beat them. It will be a wild day sat when I have to flip from the IRON bowl to OSU-Mich !

Hail college ball

makes the fall so much fun !

USC's gotta beat Cal ND and UCLA. But I agree with your basic point that if USC and the Piggies are one loss teams, USC goes in front of the Piggies.

Anyhow, it beats hell out of Prior and Wood.

MAC teams are hazardous to anyone's health. In the Big 12 Garrett Wolfe woulda won the Heismann. In the MAC, he's just another wounded warrior.

Central Michigan used to play the Iowa Wing T, not only after Iowa had discarded it but after they had discarded the coach who invented it and one coach after him!

Once watched a five game series in Baseball between CMU and WMU. Single game Thurs. DH Friday, DH Saturday. High School Teammate was supposed to be the Starting pitcher in the last game. On his third pitch in the first inning, he took a line drive off his shin and had to come out. Three days for three pitches. Missed my chemistry lab too.

Both schools seemed to have a great many female baseball fans. That was a good thing.

BTW,

How come it's OK to be a Chippewa or a Seminole but not an "Illini". I'll bet the Chippewas don't dress up some guy and have him do a sissy-dance, do they?

I gotta talk to Myles Brand about this!

Recall those days where the ILLINI actually could play Football ? Post Mackivic's leaving for Texas we went straight to the shitter .

The Illini-wick injuns love us , but the PC police hate us.

and WTF was Nutt smoking having McFadden play QB ? That kid should have done the Heisman pose b/c Nutt was thinking that .

Jones and McFadden wow some tail backs !

I think USC vs Ar-KANSAS would be a worthy rematch !
