COLLEGE FOOTBALL INSTANT REPLAY IN NON-CONFERENCE GAMES

4. Agree in advance it will not be used; or

3. Both sides agree on a replay official (retired guys who are respected work well for this. You don't have to be in shape to be a replay official.); or

2. If both sides can't agree on a replay official, each side pick one and then the two officials agree on a third, who will be the tie-breaker (it's not like cost is an issue here, folks);

1. Accept that human error happens and take your missed call like a man!

Missed calls are a part of the game. Replay, when used properly, can correct many mistakes. However, just as the on the field officials are human, so are the replay guys, and to error is human.

The member of the chain gang running the box in the famous Missouri - Colorado fifth down mess a few years ago is from Quincy and he tells a good story about how the chain gang had the down right and how the on the field officials dealt with them.

I agree. Mistakes are made. Get over it. The controversial calls are part of what make the game special and intensify traditional rivalries.

That would be interesting but my precinct committeeman, with whom I happen to sleep considers both halves of the front yard hers and, while she also loves the piggies, would have a difficult time understanding a bad outcome.

I'm just hoping to keep the penalty yardage under 150.

Don't worry UMRBLOG,

Someone took Lootie up on his little wager for you. Its going to look like someone puked Dem signs all over poor ole Looties yard!!! Double OT lose due to a kicker missing 4 times!! Had to be painful for him to watch! Well, about as painful as it is going to be for him to look at all those signs everytime he pulls out of his dive each morning.

;)
