RICH MILLER RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE THIS TIME

For any number of reasons, I have been critical of Capital Fax a time or two over the last, say, five years.

Again, this being "Fair's Fair" day, his work today on the Burris testimony and the hopelessly unstructured nature of Durkin's questioning and Burris' response since is balanced and constructive. If you look at the transcript, you are driven to the conclusion that the next question from the Durkster was going to be "If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it, will the squirrels get hurt?"

I don't know who Durkin is, but if Burris is our Rep in DC -- We have done worse than Blogo- but on a national scale.

Are we as a state-- just stupid ???

Durkin is the clod who couldn't ask a question and stay on topic.

In Illinois, Burris was a very good Cabinet Level Officer of a very important Department (CMS), an excellent Comptroller and kind of a middling Attorney General.

There is no reason to believe he won't be reasonably effective in the Senate where his best skill, coalation-building, is a critical and useful one.

Maybe we are stupid, though. We elected the inventor of Pin Stripe Patronage four times and named a gaudy, expensive building in Chicago after him.

I think I visited the Gym in chicago once.

UMR- I think your going to find Burris to be an embarrassment to the state of Illinois. Give him some time to flesh out my prediction.
They have already caught him lying about his conversations with Blogo's bro.

Observamente,

That spot is up in November of 2010. Let's take a look in, say, June of 2010 and see what his body of work is.

You may be right but, if past performance is any indicator of future outcomes, he will do the work as a Senator somewhere between middling and pretty well. I'm willing to wait and see. How about you?

Inasmuchas Rollie is from Chicago, lets just treat this as strike two remembering there are no foul balls in politics.

The guy lied under oath. After calling for a special election, then saying Burris would not be seated then saying he should be seated, even John Spring's good friend Dick Durbin is questioning Burris' integrity. Mind you he's doing it from Greece/Cyprus/Turkey with his candidate for the seat as his travel companion, but hey, it's all good. Gotta love those Illinois Democrats.

Your last point is the most interesting. Dick Durbin has not passed up even the slightest chance to dump on Roland. That's gotta have some layers to it.

Your take that he lied is noted. His take that he answered what he understood to be the question to the best of his ability at the time is also noted. Now, any neutral observer has to decide which of the two of you has a better grasp of what was going on inside RB's head.

It's liked being asked if you stabbed and killed someone and answering "no". Because the truth is, you clubbed them over the head.
