LOCAL MEDIA DIVISION OF "PLEASE! MAKE IT STOP!
Leslie Swick does a perfectly fine job as a news anchor but couldn't she just learn to pronounce "Salmonella?"
Leslie, you're killin' me here.
The Upper Mississippi River Basin:Life, Worship, Sports, Transportation, Golf, Politics and other bizarre behaviors in the Upper Mississippi River Basin. The Quincy area has a history of tolerance. We seem to suffer fools gladly.

Haven't heard her lately.
Is it the happy couple "Sam an ella"? Or the mob boss "Sal Minella"?
No, it's sall-uh-mah-nella, extra syllable. Does it every time.
Like I say, I think she does a good job and the chemistry of that night crew is pretty good on screen but those peanut butter stories have me screaming at the TV.

She look good, doe!
Too bad we won't have Joe Morgan stumbling through "Issrenhousin" anymore for Cards fans.
Now he'll just be saying "The bum that's pitching by default due to the fact that the Cards were too cheap to sign anybody good"
My pet peeve is "rural".
Every media outlet in town that has moving pictures says "rule".
No no no no no no.
Do not be afraid of the "r".
Ruhr-uhl. Or Ruu-ruhl. But NOT "rule".
1529,
I hate that one too but Leslie is actually pretty good on that. Also, Mary Griffith, just like her Dad before her, never misses that one.
But you are correct. It's pretty disgusting.

I think they have removed pronunciation skills from journalism programs. A week or two ago the morning girls on WGEM were talking about the "gloot" {glut} of available real estate.
I love Les Sachs and his "Warshington". Good Lord, man.
That must not be Natalie. She's pretty together, linguistically. I'll give Les a "colloquial" on that one.

I hadn't noticed because my arthur itis has been acting up.
That Arthur--he's worst of the Ritis boys.
