CONTINUING NATIONAL SCORN FOR ILLINOIS....

.....was put in play by somebody named Durkin who battled valiantly to actually ask a question capable of human understanding.

Note to Jimbo, don't fool with things you don't understand.

A transcript wouldn't do it justice.

Burris' lawyer actually took pity on the poor guy and said something like "Rep. Durkin, did you mean to ask ....." and then actually propounded something that was a question.

I'm sure the vid's up on CSPAN.

This is funny. A bunch of race baiting state level Democrats and this is the issue you two choose to address. Take a look in the mirror that is the Illinois Democrats of which you both are card carrying members. Not your faults though, right?

Your "states rights" take on this is original---I haven't seen it anywhere else, and it does neatly explain my blind fury of "how dare they" into a more elegant frame.

It's such a treat to see the US Senate take the high road and reject Burris because he is "tainted" by Blago, while embracing murderers like Ted Kennedy, former KKKers like Bobby Byrd, pay-for-play Chris Dodd and smear-our-soldiers-in-the-well-of-the-senate Dick Durbin.

I guess it's the "honor among thieves" theory that makes the US Senate so special.

Dang! My previous comment should have been on the "slippery slope" thread instead.

I still appreciate your coming by, give or take a slope.
