THE SAME SCRIPT, HOWEVER ELEGANT, IS THE SAME SCRIPT

I remember a presidential candidate who laid claim to uniting the people of the US, who ran against Washington and told us how he was going to change the "old" ways in Washington. He was not as gifted a speaker as the current iteration and I doubt that his heart was not nearly as pure. To be fair, he, even then, appeared not to be very bright and, thus, subject to manipulation. The newest iteration does share one thing with the this former candidate, an obvious sense of entitlement, a claim to "prince" status.

Anyway, the first Washington Outsider invaded two sovereign countries, sponsored torture and outsourcing CIA prisons, even declaring American Citizens arrested on US Soil "Enemy Combatants." He even brought us an Attorney General who thought the Geneva Convention was "quaint".

This Last Washington outsider shares one thing with another Washington Outsider, Ronald Reagan, in establishing record deficits.

So, you folks who have already identified the Next Bobby Kennedy, will just have to excuse me if I am underwhelmed by the claim of Washington "outsiderness". If I want to hire someone to drive a high performance car, I'd just as soon he or she has driven one before.

This is not to say I don't like the New Guy. That's not the point. The "outsider" argument has always fallen flat with me when it comes to being the guy with the football.

Did Hillary vote against going into either of the two sovereign nations.

You should encourage her to let everyone get a look at that driving record by releasing all the documents she refuses to.

I don't mind eating crow for a week or two. In the end, I like all three of the top Democrats. If I had to vote today I would vote for Edwards. I think a ticket of Edwards/Obama gives us the best chance to crush whomever the Republicans pick. With Obama on the ticket as Vice President, he can travel the Country getting out the vote for our Senate and Congressional Candidates, raising money and assuring the Good Guys will win both Houses so real change can come. If Obama isn't on the ticket he doesn't have near the influence to get this done.

Sorry this is taking so long:
Also Umr' you listen to Obama's and Hilary's speeches, they are saying what Edwards has been saying. "Taking it pesonally." Corporate greed." Hillary and Obama are running on Edward's stump speech now.

This is nothing against Hillary Clinton. She would be a fantatstic President. My view is about electibility. She would probably win. But I'm not big on giving a Republican four more years to run deficits even higher, and further dismantle vital agencies such as Labor and Consumer Safety.

I'd love to hear your explanation of the deficits during Reagan's terms.

43's pop was the ultimate Washington insider. He probably did't want W. INside Washington until he need him later.

O,

I'm not crowing or predicting anything. I like our top three a whole lot better than theirs.

Among other things, she drove the Defense Department into full retreat on the "VRB repayment letters".

Geez

One of the enduring political myths of our generation has been the claim that the rise of federal deficits during the 1980s resulted from President Ronald Reagan's "tax cuts for the rich."

Tax rates were cut. Tax revenues were not. More tax revenue was collected during every year of the two Reagan administrations than had ever been collected in any previous year in the history of the country.

Although these were christened "the Reagan deficits," all spending bills originate in the House of Representatives — and Ronald Reagan was never a member of the House of Representatives. Indeed, the Republicans never controlled the House of Representatives during either of the Reagan administrations.

Only after the Republicans gained control of the House in 1994 were there budget surpluses — for which Bill Clinton took credit, even though he too had never been a member of Congress.

...and how about those documents from Hil's years as Co-President. You think the voters should be able to give them the once over?

1953,

It's not a "myth" we ran serious deficits and a huge cumulative National Debt 1983-1989 FY's. Nice rant but I didn't discuss taxes at all.

Sorry, I didn’t have the time or energy to watch what RR was doing with the nation’s economy. I was too busy working two jobs trying to feed and keep a roof over the heads of my children. That man did more damage to the working man’s livelihood than you can imagine. I only hope that we elect a president that can do what Bill Clinton did when he got us out from under the cloud “Reaganomics”. Now that I have a grandchild on the way, I pray that my kids don’t have to go through what I went through trying to raise them during the dark ages of the eighties.

BTW: RR didn’t knock down the wall, the people of the former USSR decided enough was enough and grew some kahoonies. I can’t believe that arrogant bastard had the audacity to lay claim to the fall of communism.

ABC, thanks for letting me stop by.
