ET TU, PLUTO?

A bunch of scientists are sitting around debating whether Pluto is a planet. Note they do not argue about its properties, just the label that should be put on it. If any of them are there on grants, the grants should be revoked. Science is not being advanced by this exercise in label-making.

they are arguing about the definition of - "planet". Pluto is only the poor victim of current argument.
its legitimate.
of course its pity that they don't use their time for something more important.

See, Fooox, that's what I thought too, before I watched the debate on CSPAN. But they actually eneded arguing about the scientific and economic implications of ,labelling Pluto a non planet.

If they were just arguing about scientific stuff, that would have been a no-hitter but they were taling about a whole buncha earthly impacts.
