IF HEZBOLLAH WERE A STOCK, I'D BE SELLING

Dipwad of the month award goes to the Hezzie/Hamas Crowd. Now I understand this conflict has been going on for years but this particular set of battles was begun by Hezzies cleverly abducting an Israeli Soldier. Israelis the blew up every Porta Potty in the Gaza Strip. Our heroes responded to this by brilliantly snatching yet another two soldiers and declaring solidarity with Lebanon. At this particular point, I'm sure Lebanon, the country, was saying "Do me a favor and don't do me a favor."

Israeli AF dropped a couple of random explosives on Lebanon, just to let everybody know they paying attention. At this exact moment, the Hezzies played the Ultimate stupid card. Holding three freshly kidnapped soldiers, they began negotiating for the release of "political prisoners" when they should have been saying "Oh, this was a terrible mistake by radical elements.. we'll have 'em right back to you. Thank you for Shopping at Hezzie-Mart". Anyway, that was pretty much the end for Lebanon. It is now officially a bomb range.

Another great victory for the brilliant palestinian people. Hell, even the little rat, Arafat, coulda done better than this on life support.

Just dealing with Iran, one must keep in mind that there are really two parallel governments there. The nominal government knows it's not really in charge, so it acts out the policies of the shadow government as loudly and offensively as possible. The funny thing is that their historical b!tch is not with us but with the Brits.

To view all these folks as some kind of unified front is a mistake.

I wish this was that easy.
Hezbolah is a fanatic minority in lebanon and they hold both Israel and Lebanon at their balls.
Both Israel and the US don't want to weaken the lebanees goverment beacause everybody knows who will replace them.
Most of Israel's acts (our acts) don't really has any affect on hezbolah, Israel knows it is impossible to hit Hezbolah because they are mixed up with civilians.
what I think Israel is doing is saying to lebanon "take a fucken responsibilty on your country"
Israel also knows lebanon can't really stand up against Hezbollah, this will mean to stand up against Syria and Iran.
I just hope smarter people will know how to act.
time will tell.

Funny thing is, Harry Truman figured this would happen and still thought it was worth it. No American President has disagreed with him so far. Pretty good evidence it is sound policy.

Pretty good evidence it was sound policy? In other words, there were presidents other than the current one who were fools. The Brits and the French screwed up the Middle East, trying to divvy up the spoils, and the creation of that artificial state called Israel was born the same creative thinking that put together Iraq. Just because a succession of U.S. presidents were bought off by AIPAC does not for sound policy make. I'm all for the Palestinian resistance, no matter how futile the exercise.
