SALARY ARBITRATION: HOW TO BE A GOOD LOSER

For those of you scoring at home, Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson just tragically lost his Salary arbitration.

He is a very good player, as almost all ex-Cubs are once they leave Chicago, and finished in the top five in the MVP voting last year.  He did all that while making the relatively nice Salary of $492,000.  You may like that number but it happens to be the Major League Minimum, so Josh was a bargain for his team last  year.

This year he was eligible for Salary Arbitration.  The poor guy lost.  This coming year he will only be making $4.3M or 9 times what he made last year.  Needless to say, he was a cheerful loser.
