AUTHENTICATED AS COMING FROM CAROL NICHOLS

Dear Friends and Citizens of the School District:

It has been so difficult for me to watch and read about the candidates currently running for School Board.

From my eight years on the Board and from the recent court case, I know so much of what has gone on “behind the scenes.” I have seen first-hand deception and manipulation of the lowest kind,
inappropriate behavior, and actions unbecoming of the office. Some of this stems from ignorance and just not recognizing when one is being manipulated. Some stems from arrogance and plain selfishness.

Decency attracts decency. Unfortunately, poor behavior attracts those who act in an equally destructive way.

From an honest and careful review of what I know to be true, I ask this of you: recognize very destructive performance vs.genuine sincerity and skillful commitment. On April 5, vote for Richard Jones,
Tom Dickerson and Stephanie Erwin. (They are listed #2, #3 and #4 on the ballot).

Sincerely,

Carol Nichols

I note Bud came in third by a very wide margin.

I wonder if there are many people like myself who, while finding the previous school board/county board prohibition goofy and unreasonable, find the CURRENT situation of running for a seat on a board WHERE HE ALREADY HAS A SEAT much more problematic.

And before the Bud supporters begin to rail about how "he's really been removed by the judge and just is being ALLOWED to remain for now during the appeal"--if he's really NOT on the board (thanks to the judge's ruling) then he darn well shouldn't be president and he darn well shouldn't be allowed to vote. Since he is, then he is clearly still holding a seat on the board.

And now he doesn't know what he is going to do?

Bud, you should have resigned your current seat--at the latest--on Election Day.

I think what we will actually see out of this, if he chooses to resign and take the new seat, is another lawsuit because just as you are not allowed to vote twice in an election, I really don't think you are (or should be) allowed to be elected for a seat when you already have a seat.

But that's just me. And Bud is great guy, i just think he has had some truly crappy advice.

Not railing - just explaining. Bud ran for and won a second seat which he was allowed to do by law. (Don't you think the legal dept. would have jumped on that immediately if it had been illegal.) He never possessed more than one seat. The election results were not certified until last week on Tuesday or Wednesday. Therefore, Bud did not officially win the new seat before that day. He would not have resigned a seat he had not officially won. I believe Bud knew what he wanted to do but did not want to show his hand to the media and other board members who opposed him. After watching the process to remove him I will agree with you. This may result in another lawsuit.
