WE'VE JUST BEEN NAMED "CASH FOR CLUNKERS HEADQUARTERS"

Oh, yeah? By whom? What does that mean, really?

I think I'd run from anybody who told me they had been "officially" named "Cash for Clunkers Headquarters." by someone for some purpose. It sounds like scabby hype to me.

Your anger is misdirected. It should rest squarely on the shoulders of the government that took away the Chrysler portion of their dealership and introduced this ridiculous initiative to begin with. The upside is few will use this program and little of our money will be spent on it.

It's not anger. It's consumerism. I figure if a vendor will mislead me about one thing, it'll mislead me about others.

I missed the local ad. Paper or radio?

The problem I have is I have become a satellite radio junkie and a internet news person, so I am missing the majority of ads around town.

Says much really, especially for my demographics and the problems facing local advertising.

Who is claiming we are the Headquarters?

Kind of like Spring's campaign commercial touting fake unemployment statistics for Quincy.

0852,

I don't think it's the same thing at all. A GREDF stat misstated is not the same thing as an ad intentionally crafted to mislead the listener into believing the vendor enjoys some kind of special distinction.

Both lies, same thing.

I can respect that view and still think it is a little narrow.
