SULK DAY--SMOKE 'EM IF YOU GOT 'EM

Injured, in pain, listening to gas bags fail to ask Sotomayor meaningful questions. Listening to untrained folks call her a racist and just not up for a full post.

Comment on the issues of the day and I'll post the useful ones later.

What king of training do you need to spot a racist?

OB,

I dunno. Never been any good at it. Lester Maddox and Jesse, Sr. are easy because they pretty much tell you up front. Fukudome's a little more difficult.

I suppose you're talking about the Conn. firefighers and Sotomayor. Her sin there was not writing a digested opinion explaining that the Supreme Court had not yet provided any meaningful guidance on the boundaries for AA in promotional exams.

BTW, Those white guys sure rushed in to take their "Joe the Plumber" 15 minutes of fame. It's not that long ago, Americans looked at FF's as heroes. Now their just back to being being "cause" people.

No heroes in this psychodrama.

Should it not be "Anita Hill" 15 minutes of fame, given the setting?

That's a fair argument.

See that Ms Lepper will push an ordinance allowing six people to speak for 3 minutes at each council meeting in an automatic "public forum." But as my right-wing friends like to remind me, we don't live in a direct democracy, but a republic with representative government.

That's even at the local level, at least in Illinois. We elect aldermen to represent us. If they don't do that we way we want, we can un-elect them.

So don't people talk to their aldermen anymore? That's the proper "public forum" in a representative system of government, your alderman. Why waste everybody's time every Monday, even if for 20 minutes?

Of course, if you're a dumbass with an axe to grind you could talk to God and still not be satisfied.

Then why just not eliminate allowing any speakers in any format, even the one currently in place.
