I think there's plenty of idiocy to go around. Having been one of "our boys", I can tell you we all get a yuck out of how politicians try to demonstrate how their "supporting" us.

I do, however, regret Harkin's remarks. Addiction is nothing to joke about or to use to gain a positional advantage.

A third grade reading level is all one needs to read the transcript and realize Rush was specifically talking about the Scott Beauchamps and Jesse MacBeths of the world — soldiers who have decided to make a living by telling lies about American soldiers.

Now comes today. After spending several weeks bashing General Petraeus and then proclaiming that House action to condemn the bashing would be a waste of time, House Democrats intend to denounce Rush Limbaugh today for going after the phony soldiers.

The Democrats did not want to condemn attacks on General Petraeus, but they want to condemn Rush Limbaugh for taking on the phony soldiers — the ones who lied to make the real soldiers look like war criminals.

Yet again, Rush has proven the left to be the hypocrites they are.

I expect, and accept that politicians will pander to the audience. They will do and say things that may be tacitly a stretching of the truth, or a lie to show themselves in the best light; it is to be expected.

But to openly lie about a topic that any 17 year old intern could have researched is just an amazing testament as to how pathetic the state of DC Politics has become. But as Rush has stated many times, the accusation is many times worse then the actual action and as I see it, this is just an extension of that tactic. Even though the action was that of pointing out a fraud.

Sen Harkin is the senator who told people in 1979 that he had flown missions over Vietnam doing the Vietnam War, thinking people would be too dumb to look up his record.

Forgive me for being thick but I rather don't get why this is a big deal either way.

Limbaugh's an entertainer. Nobody ever said or thought he was Socrates or Ernie Pyle. This whole Pi$$ing contest is like Roman Hruska arguing with Wolfman Jack.

It's news cuz Drudge says it is, I guess. It's like the clapping hands at the old Astrodome. It was the only way the crowd knew when to applaud.

This is all about power. The far left doesn't want to take on powerful forces with different perspectives. Instead they look for anyway to marginalize them and this is the latest episode. I found a great article on this here.

Democrats want to introduce a House resolution Monday condemning Rush Limbaugh for remarks about phony soldiers he didn't make.

Did you see Reid on the Senate floor? Don't blame Drudge, blame the guys you vote for.

It’s about the MoveOn.org Democrats trying to save face in the aftermath of the disastrous “General Betray Us” smear. They want their own moment of righteous (or rather, lefteous) indignation, their own empty proof that they really, really, really do support the troops. They want to shift attention away from MoveOn.org, its bully tactics, and its thug brethren at Media Matters. They are making a pathetic attempt to equate the “Betray Us” attack–which was deliberately timed for publication and maximum p.r. damage to our military command when the world was watching our top general in Iraq testifying in Congress–with a radio talk show host’s ruminations about anti-war soldiers who have faked their military records/history.

That's who is running your party. It should be a big deal to you.

1917,

I have no doubt of your sincerity but you really have no clue.

MoveOn.org gives folks who really want to make government work the worst kind of heartburn. Folks like McCaskill and Tester are dying because the presidential election backdrop keeps reasonable and moderate people from saying the emperor has no clothes.

Even Leahy, who can be about a bubble off of plumb occasionally, says these doctrinal fights always end up the same way, with somebody pointing out that, just like the goofy GOP leadership in Congress, the Dems can't pass jack squat, either.

Even Teddy's gotta hate this crap because it makes it that much more difficult to reach across the aisle just to pass moderately useful stuff.

Using Rush for a fundraising foil (I expect my letter will be int he mail about next Tuesday) is a pretty warmed over trick. It really doesn't matter who's got the better side of the argument because the Kool Aid drinkers are gonna buy anything he says and nobody else is listening. So again, I hope the dems take a page from Move On and just freaking Move On!

I guess the interesting part of all this is why you find it so compelling.

So it is a big deal or it's not a big deal?

I mean you have the majority leader pandering to the George Soros crowd on the floor of the US Senate. Don't they have something else they could be doing?

If this was the Secretary of Defense saying this or even (if there was anybody like this left) Walter Cronkite or David Brinkley.

This is a high tech version of Arthur Godfrey. What the hell difference does it make what he calls anyone who puts themselves into the public domain?

I sure wasn't going to intiate a post about it. Pretty much a pox on all their houses.

Why is any of it important? I get the MoveOn thing was cheesy but that's an active political committee, not some guy who sells soap (or ties or GPS devices, or whatever).

Did Reid lie or is his interpretation different from your hero-worshipping take?

If there's as soldier who gives a fig about what Rush Limbaugh thinks about anything, he or she can decide how to feel about what he said. How many of them could pull Harry Reid out of a lineup?

This is just a pile of petty stupidness, both ways.

What is your "interpretation" of what Rush was talking about?

Oh, and BTW,

"READ THE TRANSCRIPT": Are you kidding me? Reading radio show transcripts is God's way of telling you that you need a new hobby.

I'm just not making myself clear enough. I don't care what Rush meant. I don't care what Arthur Godfrey said about President Eisenhower. I don't care what Dick Biondi said about Senator McCarthy and I don't care what Larry Lujack said about Mayor Daley.

These people sell soap. Soap is good. That's nice. I just don't care what they meant because they don't make policy. They just make noise.

For U.S. Senators to join this untrained seal act is just compounding a curious misdemeanor.

Rush did a commentary about phony soldiers. Media Matters claimed he said soldiers who are against the war are phony soldiers. Reid and his band of merry pranksters want a resolution to condemn what Rush didn't say because.... I don't know, you don't care.

Get it? Selling soap has nothing to do with it. Your guys are lying.

Why?

You don't care.

I suppose it is to limit the ability of people like Limbaugh to drive stories in the mainstream news as we get closer to the election.

What he said is not important anymore than what a pet store owner might say.

What some gasbag politician might say about what the pet store owner said is even less important. At least Curveball told consequential lies.

None of this, that is zip, nil, squat is worth a pitcher of warm spit.

I'll stipulate Harry Reid is an ineffective leader, scared to death of George Soros. Now for God's sake breathe deeply for a while and go to bed. This is all chickenshit.

"Sells Soap" has EVERYTHING to do with it. These people are not part of the process. They are commercial entertainment. Take them seriously at your peril. Talk Show Hosts are only accountable when they call someone a "Nappy Ho'" and that's once a decade, giver or take.

It doesn't matter if he said the Haditha Marines wore purple garters. He's an entertainer.

It does, however, have everything to do with what Reid and the rest of the useful idiots said. That's the point. Get it?

Phone-a-thon

It's October, time to brush your teeth again.

Back it up. What words did I Twist?

A phony espouses one set of values while living another. Both here and in the RW with me, what you see is what you get. Even my enemies concede I'm honest.

"wants" not "want's"

Wanna disagree with me on something or say I did something wrong? Be specific and I'll deal with it. This generic name-calling spellathon isn't very useful.

And, no, I didn't whack your comment because I wanted our readers to see we have a broad audience, including alternative school dropouts. How's the GED prep coming? Fifth year, you're due. Maybe you'll break through this time. Coulda been the airplane glue in the brown paper bag

Now wipe the drool off your keyboard and try to upgrade.
