DUCKWORTH CURIOSITY.....HELP ME WITH THIS ONE, PLEASE

I know the Duckworth story and I know a lot of good democrats who find her everlastingly annoying..(One emailed me that he thought it was probably not in good taste to "Become Pope immediately after joining the Church). Still, she's our candidate and seems an admirable person, if not a real facile politician.

So I get all that.

Here's my question. Her TV refers to her as "Captain Duckworth" over a picture of her doing what appears to be testifying in congress wearing dark Oak Leaves (the insignia for a MAJOR. Why would her own campaign self identify her as a captain, if she was a major?
