CLASSICEST ROCK (IF THAT'S NOT A WORD, IT SHOULD BE!)

I have been in most major american and canadian cities, every continent except Antarctica and have even played in several Odessa Pro-Ams and I have never heard a better Classic Rock Station than WJEQ 102.7 in Macomb. Unfortunately, at least right now, you can't listen to it on the internet. It's better than great.

FWIW, I have linked their Blog. It's not quite as great.

Does that pick up well in Quincy? I didn't think it did, but then again I could be wrong.

The station I find myself listening to most is the classic rock station out of Keokuk on 96.3.

Drew,

No. Once in while, it'll come in pretty well out by the airport. Roughly Roseville on the North, Carthage on the West, Rushville to the South and I really don't know how far east.

96.3 is a good substitute but, like 94.5 out of Kirksville, they are starting to get too chatty. On 102.3, except for the news and Sports (Macomb roundball is really good this year), they just play the music. I guess there's no money in any of them webcasting but I wish they all did.

BTW, I finally fought through the javascript and you're linked on this site with my own comments about your site.

Have a good weekend.

Can this area please offer a progressive/liberal talk format? We are inundated with mucic formats of all kind, and right wing talk.

Hell, I'd be satisfied with someone who was merely a critical and analytical thinker. Maybe 6 years ago, WTAD had Jim Hightower on for a few weekends, certainly not enough time for his wry sense of humor to develop a following. That vaporized pretty quickly. Now they're eating out of the Fox trough so there's no hope for true balance.

WGEM balances one Kool Aid drinker, Bennett with flamo Laura I and the beautiful and talented Michael Medved. Sheesh, at least they break it up with Kim Komando. They also have a feature called the "Sattelite Sisters". As long as that beauty's on the air, you don't have to worry about swallowing anything poisonous. Better than Ipecac Syrup, it's guaranteed to induce vomiting.

Yeah, just one person who doesn't think Janet Reno was on the Grassy Knoll would be good.

Tony,
Just wanted to report that 102.7 can be heard as far east as the Delavan, San Jose, Green Valley metro-plex. Not what one would call "loud & clear", but better than the names mentioned in your 11:41 post.
Another good station if you travel US 24 east is WCCD 107.9 out of Canton, IL. A recent Classic Rock addition without many ads. At least not yet.

Nicky,

Whilst I appreciate the info, to call Delevan, Green Valley and San Jose a "Metroplex" is a little like calling Marblehead a tropical resort.

You da man, however. If you say it, it must be so.

BTW, I forgot to mention, with "w" leading the way, its okay to make up words. So, "classicest" is OK.
I'm sure you have a knack for coming up with more, although yours would be for intentional fun & amusement. Whereas "w" does it because he's, well because he's "w".
