IF I HEAR ONE MORE FREAKING GASBAG REPUB SENATOR SAY

"Gas prices are just a result of supply and demand"

I'm gonna hurl!

I think Senator Kyl from Arizona had a peanut butter and ethanol sandwich before is disjointed, nonsensical remarks. Fortunately for him, Dr. Frist actually made him look less bad. Has there ever been a politician more disconnected from the American People than Frist? Maybe Strom Thurmond in a coma.

If we don't take the Senate away from these insensitive boors, we should be horsewhipped.

What if the Feds & the states 100% UNTAXED our gas during this time period ?

And people preach ethanal like it saves the world . Yet I am informed by a High up in keokuk that Ethanal takes as much energy in as it gets out !

WOW there's a cure -- USE energy to make a fuel additive. Notice Roquette one of the world's leaders in grain prossing has zero ethanal plants .

It really doesn't make much income. ADM is the king of them right now. But they have CHEAP energy prices for their plants .

The Quincy plant will be 1 giant failure whose only after market value will be for big plants to BUY the equipment on the cheap .

Or I could be wrong

Your point on Ethanol is interesting. How much foreign oil use are we conserving if we are using dead dinosaurs to turn corn into fuel? The environmental argument and even the price enhancement argument may have merit but, as nearly as I can determine, the "oil saving" argument doesn't hold water. E85 is just the same thing with the volume turned up.

As you can tell from my beginning post, I'm not wild about tax abatement on gas. It'll just mask the problem and make the crisis last longer. I could be persuaded to a compromise position where we leave the road taxes, which are in a pennies per gallon mode, and take out the sales taxes, which are in a percentage mode. The sales taxes are the most punishing.

New topic on the Quincy Plant. Why put an Ethanol plant where it is off farm-to-market roads and intrudes on residential areas? Bad idea.

Thanks for your comment.

A local guy works in the Energy Trading business in Houston . What we have is a few factors going at once.

Unstable iraq , a CRAZY Iran , A bunch of Che wanna be's in South America tossed on top a Fire of World Economic Boom !

These factors like the Hurricane season make the market jittery !

So when the companies are BUYING futures they are placing bids forhigher prices . They are in the business to make money .

But if your not short sighted , you can recall the 70's OIL embargo . Where do Oil producing nations place all that money ?

US BANKS ! We in turn finance future Oil fields -- Chavez & Venazuala and Mexico didn't have any oil besides in the hair . The Arabs PAID for those fields .

SO we have an UPTURN in price at the same time Every energy company on the planet is drilling for more fields or placing income into pipelines .

Soon supply will be back in line with demand and the Iraq war will give the QPD hummer $.89 a gallon gas

Or I could be wrong then we're proper F*cked

I am far too lazy to re-type this

Your projections don't account for 1.3 Billion Chinese consuming dead dinosaurs like a kid in a candy store.

Your logic would make sense if the demand curve could be projected as stable. Your premise on the Venezuelan Resources is not correct either. Oil was being harvested there, just not by the V's.

Thanks for you comment. I don't care that it was cut and paste. It was topical.

A good Book to read is the "Seven Sisters" a bit dated but still dead on correct !

Those Chinamen and Indians are using dead dino's like they cost $75 a barrel !

But take a Look at Local Gardner Denver . They make a product call a "Mud Pump" that is so back logged I think they are sold for the next 3 years production.

Mud pumps are expensive pieces of Oil drilling & extract equipment .
With Oil at a high price companys will EXTRACT off fields where before the cost basis wasn't as good .

The Mid East oil being light sweet crude is dirt cheap to take out . That is why we deal with Allah Akbars . Their oil is no better than say Russian , South American or Domestic --- it's just FAR cheaper per barrel to extract.

I see Che Nationized all the Nat'l Gas & oil In Bolivia ! Poor silly Morallaz didn't research what United fruit did in the 50-70's !

BP is far meaner than United Fruit !

BP is what gave us Iran-as-we-know-it. Reverse Nationalized the Iranian oilfields.

At least the Indians drive scooters. Chinese like cylinders, the more the merrier.

Thanks for coming by. It's hard to argue with you because I think you know more than I do on this topic. Thanks for adding your knowledge.

Darwin didn't bestow anything. He just identified us as the product of tadpoles colliding.

I think ol' Chuck was just reacting to the Old Testament strict constructionists.

Thanks for comin' by

I did help in the days before safty labels , bike helmuts , and coddling parents. When I saw a kid acting a fool my ghost would knock them right off their damn bike !

If not for a little bit of me in the world we would all be running into windows like a bird . So always think of me when you see people playing in traffic .

'Ol Darwin has a way of thinning the herd !

Chuckster,

Take a walk through WalMart about any time. You're a little behind in your work.

Hold up on the Bird Flu though. That might be an overreaction.

Thanks for coming by.

Ok scratch bird flu ......

But take up herd thinning at large box discount stores !

I see CHe in Bolivia is having Neighbor issues. I read that first of all he can't afford to Nationalize the Nat'l Gas fields. I also see that Brazil & Argentina are the main companies getting screwed !

Moralaze forgot what happened to the REAL Che in those woods .

an FYI :

At this moment more Oil fields and gas fields are going into production world wide . Pipe lines that will hit the market will tripple by the beg quater of 2007 .

A benefit of high prices is these companies and Nations have to do something with it .

Good ol Momar Ka-daffy's oil infastructure is in the upgrading process and will be PUMPING at 4 times his present level with in the next 6 months. Libia has new fields with potentials to rival Iraq, Iran & Saudi .

The TRUE Orcacle Has spoken

Now it's time for me to thin the herd and take control of some Mizzou drivers !
